The Local Area
This year for the first time ever there is going to be a Norfolk Day. This has been very welcome to all the people that live and work here and lots of events are anticipated both local and throughout Norfolk. This will be held on July 27.
Quarters Cottages is very central to most things. 4 miles from Go Ape in Thetford Forest High Lodge where yoyu can be brave and attempt the tree top adventure,hire bikes or segways and cycle through this lovely area.
Bewilderwood is 20 miles away this is an adventure park with a difference and is great for all the family.
Dinasour Park is one not to be missed, 20 minutes drive away, has a great adventure playground and the dinasour trail is a must. Also has the deer park where you can see the deer close up, great picnic area and outside space, also has a splash area.
Wells-next-the-Sea is a 45 minute drive away. This ia a real old-fashioned seaside resort with a beautiful beach. Walk through the pinewoods to lovely Holkham and back along the beach. Sit on the harbour wall to eat the best fish and chips ever.
There are many National Trust Parks including the beautiful Blickling Hall.
Dereham has a market on Tuesday and Fridays. Fakenham has a great maket on a Thursday which incorporates a flea market and auction well worth a visit.
Gorleston and Gt Yarmouth are also nearby.
In Cranworth village we have a smokehouse and fishmonger.
The city of Norwich is close by ,park and ride or drive in and park in city centre. Visit Norwich Castle museum and Norwich Cathedral. The Forum has an area dedicated to the USA airforce and has information regarding this site.
Wander through the Norwich Lanes for a different selection of shops and cafes. The historic market is a maze of different stalls selling everything you need and lots more that you didnt know you needed!!
Visit Jarrold’s widely regarded as the flagship department store in Norwich. This has been a family run business since 1823, offering a unique and contemporary shopping experience over 5 floors.
Dont leave without a coffee and cheese scone in the coffee shop.
